Podcaster Bobbi Althoff is asking President Donald Trump for a chat on her podcast, known for deadpan interviews with stars like Drake, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Cuban.

The "Not This Again" host's plea comes after she revealed on TikTok that a family friend of 20 years had been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Now is she requesting a sit-down with the president, saying "if you're watching this, please, please keep watching."

"I think that, perhaps, you surround yourself with people who agree with you, and maybe you need to hear another perspective," she said.

Althoff then opened up about drastically shifting political beliefs after meeting her now ex-husband, Cory Althoff, who she was married to for four years until the pair split in February 2024, according to People. She said it led to a "180" in perspective, adding "I realized that I didn't know everything."

Bobbi Althoff attends 2024 ChainFEST Los Angeles VIP Night at Skylight Row in Los Angeles on Oct. 5, 2024.

After voting for the president in 2016 at age 18, she has said she voted Democrat in the past two presidential elections.

"I think that a lot of people get mad when people held beliefs and think they can't change their mind, but for this world to get better, people need to change their mind and open their mind and form new opinions," she said. "I would love an opportunity to try and speak to you."

USA TODAY has reached out to the White House for comment.

Althoff said she anticipated backlash from her public attempt to interview Trump and criticized liberals for being "part of the problem" as well as the administration's immigration crackdown.

She also encouraged viewers to engage with people who they disagree with: "You are never going to change anything in this world if we all look at the other people, like they are evil, and we say we don't want to hear from people who disagree with us."
