Look, being a screenwriter is really hard. You have to keep the plot moving, broadcast the characters' motivations and personality without being weird about it, and keep a thousand loose ends tied together, lest people like us pick them apart. It's enough to drive you to accounting.
That's no excuse, however, for cringe dialogue. You might think you can slip it in unnoticed if there's enough action, special effects and Queen playing in the background, but modern viewers are machines that eat weakness and spit it back out onto the internet.
