After months of hinting that they might want to add a new pet to their household, Kylie and Jason Kelce may be coming to an agreement when it comes to adopting a cat
The couple joked that they came to a "compromise" when it comes to adding a cat to their family while on Thursday's episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce
"There is a compromise that we have found our way to, which is... maybe in the next couple years," Kylie shared
After months of hinting that they might want to add a new pet to their household, Kylie and Jason Kelce may be coming to an agreement when it comes to adopting a cat.
During the Thursday, Oct. 30 episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, the mom of four, 33, and the former NFL star, 37, took questions from listeners — including one fan who questioned when the couple were going to finally adopt a cat after talking about it for several months.
"I think we need to ask the special guest, when are you finally getting the cat?" Kylie asked her husband, who joked back: "If it's up to me, never."
According to Kylie, she's been advocating for the family of six to adopt a new cat, while Jason has expressed his dislike for cats to their kids.
"There is a compromise that we have found our way to, which is... maybe in the next couple years," Kylie shared.
Jason then chimed in to say he wants an "outdoor cat" — and the pair debated having an "indoor-outdoor" cat that's "a little bit inside."
"It's a work in progress, guys," Kylie joked. "I'm a keep chipping away at it. Okay?"
Jason then quipped that he wouldn't want a "deadbeat" pet that isn't a "working cat."
"If you're living with us, you're paying rent," the Philadelphia Eagles alum joked. "I can do a deadbeat dog. Deadbeat cat has no use to me."
"Once it crosses that barrier into the house, it it's starting to gray some lines. So just let it live on the property outside," he continued. "Take care of the mice situation."
The couple — who are parents to daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 7 months — have previously spoken about their love for the many dogs they've owned over the years, and are currently pet parents to Nessie, an Irish wolfhound dog.
In February 2024, Kylie told PEOPLE that she "would like a cat" but didn't expect to get the pet "soon" because she wanted Jason to warm up to the decision.
"I really want Jason to be on board when we decide to get one," the podcaster said at the time.
In December, Kylie appeared on a bonus episode of the podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce and said she was interested in a pet feline.

Kylie mentioned the potential pet to Jason's brother, Travis Kelce, on the podcast.
"I told Jason that I want to get a cat," Kylie said on the episode before telling Travis, "And he told me no. And I feel like you might like cats now," seemingly referencing Travis' relationship with Taylor Swift, who is a doting mom to three cats — Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.
Additionally, after Swift's appearance on Jason and Travis' New Heights podcast on Aug. 13, Kylie opened up on Not Gonna Lie in August to discuss how Swift's upcoming orange-themed album, The Life of a Showgirl, could help her adopt a cat down the line.
"We also got this question from Real One Grace Davis: Orange album? Jason Kelce, in honor of the new album, you should buy Kylie Kelce, an orange tabby cat," Kylie said, reading the fan-submitted comment. "I'm just saying your girls will love it."
Kylie was a fan of this plan, saying, "Great idea. Let's slide the cat in there. We'll bait and switch Jason. We'll show them like, 'Oh my gosh. Whoa. You guys are breaking the Internet with your podcast!' Boom. Cat in the house. He'll never know. Outstanding. No notes."
