Congratulations are in order for Keith Powers and Ryan Destiny!
The Uglies actor shared a series of romantic photos to Instagram Oct. 5, including some in which the actress, 30, flashes her new diamond ring at the camera, alongside the caption, "engaged to the love of my life."
In the comments section of the post, the couple's friends and family congratulated them on their next chapter. "You guys!!!!! These pictures!!!! "Congratulations," Powers' Uglies costar, Joey King, wrote in the comments, while Chloe Bailey wrote, "I love you guys sm."
After sharing their big news on social media, Powers, 33, revealed to ESSENCE that he had actually been planning the proposal for a year and a half.
"We're still floating, it feels like. It's been such a beautiful time. The engagement itself was really intimate and tender; it just felt right," the couple told the outlet. "Now that we're stepping into wedding planning, we're trying to approach it the same way we approach everything else that matters — with intention, patience, and communication."
"We've always been teammates, and I'm just really grateful that I get to have my best friend, and now my fiancé by my side," Destiny added.
The Grown-ish actress went on to recount exactly what the moment felt like from her perspective.
"You imagine this moment in your head for so long. So when it actually happens, it almost feels out of body," she said. "But I think I was mostly present. In bliss, but present. Like, could not stop smiling."

"I just love him so much and I just appreciate him every step of the way," she told PEOPLE at the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards in February. "He's such a cheerleader for me, as I am for him. It just means everything. We're just best friends — you know, we're more than best friends."
Since then, Powers also revealed the secret to keeping his and Destiny's relationship strong. They first met at a Teen Vogue party back in 2015 before officially confirming their relationship in a July 2019 We the Urban digital cover.
"I think partnership really works when you really do look at your partner [the way you would look at] siblings, in a way," the Famous in Love star told PEOPLE at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. "We could fight. We might not talk to each other for a minute. But we love each other. We come back. You know what I'm saying?"
"And I feel like for me and Ryan … it's like this is family. It's not a thing where [it's like], 'Oh, I didn't like [that] she did a certain thing and now I don't want to be in a relationship,' " he continued.
