Taylor Swift told BBC Radio 1 host Greg James that she's a "pretty tough broad"
"People don't need to bubble wrap me in their minds," Swift said

Taylor Swift needs no coddling.
The pop superstar, 35, took a walk down memory lane with friend and radio host Greg James on BBC Radio 1 to celebrate the release of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl — and on reflecting upon a viral 2018 moment with James, explained that she's developed a thick skin.
"People don't need to bubble wrap me in their minds as much as they do. Do you know what I mean?" she said. "I'm a pretty tough broad."
Swift and James, 39, were talking about a seven-year-old interview they did together after she performed a six-song set at the BBC's Biggest Weekend in Swansea, Wales in 2018. In the clip, which went viral at the time and still remains viral, James tells Swift, "I think you need to have a shower now," as she'd worked up a sweat during the set.
Swift responds positively, telling the radio host, "I agree and I'm not offended that you said that. There's a lot going on and none of it's good here."
During their chat on Friday, Oct. 3, the two discussed the old interview, and Swift said that most fans "don't think we're actually friends."
"Remember when you were like, joking with me at the show we did about being sweaty and people thought that it was a greatly offensive thing?" she said. "No [I was not upset], it was important. And also, I had already arrived there on my own. You were just reading my mind, as good friends do. I actually laughed."
The "Opalite" singer did guarantee James an invite to her upcoming wedding to fiancé Travis Kelce.

Swift released The Life of a Showgirl, her 12th album, on Oct.3, and has revealed that she made the record with producers Max Martin and Shellback in Sweden during breaks from the European leg of her blockbuster Eras Tour.
She told Capital FM that her NFL star beau Kelce, 35, is a big fan of the album, and that "Opalite" is his favorite song.
Upon the album's release, Swift shared an Instagram post with a number of glamorous photos.
"I can't tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right. A forever thank you goes out to my mentors and friends Max and Shellback for helping me paint this self portrait," she wrote. "If you thought the big show was wild, perhaps you should come and take a look behind the curtain… The Life of a Showgirl is out now."
