Nick Offerman surprised his Parks and Recreation costar Jim O'Heir during a flight they were on at the same time
O'Heir, who played Jerry Gergich in the NBC sitcom, shared the funny moment on his Instagram
"Please behave yourself and travel safely," Offerman said to his costar over the plane's PA system
Ron Swanson and Jerry Gergich have reunited... but they were a long from Pawnee.
Nick Offerman surprised his Parks and Recreation costar Jim O'Heir during a recent flight to Minneapolis, as he took over their plane's PA system, read off a script provided by American Airlines and apparently caught his friend by surprise.
On Friday, Oct. 10, O'Heir announced on Instagram that he ran into Offerman, 55, on the "same flight," sharing a selfie from the wholesome moment.
"I didn't know that until we were about to land and he got on the speaker and started talking about Jerry, Gary, Larry and Terry Gergich," he wrote, referring to his Parks and Rec character. "It was awesome."
O'Heir, 63, later posted a clip of the costar run-in to Instagram on Monday, Oct. 13. In the footage, Offerman could be seen at the front of their plane's cabin as he read off a list of American Airlines safety instructions and poked some fun at O'Heir.
"Make sure your window shades are open for landing and taxied til we reach the gate," Offerman said. "American Airlines flight attendants will be walking down the aisle to do final safety checks before we land. If you have any trash you want to discard, please give it to them."
"And as I always say, don't half-ass your safety, only whole-ass," he added as a nod to one of Ron Swanson's signature quotes.

Toward the end of his instructions, Offerman revealed his identify to O'Heir, who was sitting near the front of the plane, calling out a passenger with the last name "Gergich" and the first name "Jerry, Larry, Barry or Gary."
"Please behave yourself and travel safely," he joked. "Thank you for choosing American Airlines."
O'Heir then laughed at the moment, as a flight attendant took over for Offerman and told passengers that the airline enlisted "Hollywood celebrities for your safety."
"Please listen to him, even if you don't listen to us. Welcome to Minneapolis, thank you for joining us," the flight attendant said, before Offerman and O'Heir shared a handshake.
"I love that man," O'Heir wrote of the encounter in a caption.

Jim O'Heir as Jerry Gergich and Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson in 'Parks and Recreation'
O'Heir and Offerman's reunion comes over a decade after Parks and Recreation's finale aired in February 2015. The comedy aired on NBC for seven seasons beginning in April 2009. A reunion special aired in April 2020. The ensemble cast also included Adam Scott, Retta, Aubrey Plaza, Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Rashida Jones and Chris Pratt, among others.
Back in November, O'Heir released Welcome to Pawnee: Stories of Friendship, Waffles and Parks and Recreation, a book about his experience on the show and its lasting impact.
"I've seen some 'showbiz' craziness over the years," O'Heir said in a statement at the time. "I've been on sets where tensions were high and morale was low. Then came Parks and Recreation. I had never experienced such kindness and collaboration with other actors, writers, crew and producers."
"The Parks fanbase is incredibly loyal and always has tons of questions for me about what went on behind the scenes," he added. "I've written this book to give them a peek into the world of how a great sitcom gets made. I want to share with them what it was like to work with the amazing cast and crew day after day, as well as the highs and the lows of a show that was always on the brink of cancellation."
