Cody Johnson announced he was canceling the remainder of this year's shows due to an "immediate surgery"
In an Instagram post, the country star revealed that he burst an ear drum
"The healing process will take many weeks," the "Dirt Cheap" singer added
Cody Johnson is prioritizing his health.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the "Half a Song" singer shared that he would be canceling all of his shows through the end of the year to undergo surgery for a ruptured ear drum.
"It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year's concert performances will not be able to happen. While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my ear drum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery," the country star, 38, wrote on Instagram.
"The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time. Without the surgery my downtime could be months," he continued. "I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love. Thank you COJO Nation for the love and support now, and always."

In the caption section, Johnson asked fans to "stay tuned for an email from your ticket providers for further details."
The "Dirt Cheap" singer had six shows left of his tour in 2025. In 2026, his shows will resume in February and he'll perform through July.
In September, Johnson postponed his shows in Columbus, Ohio because he woke up "without a singing voice; severe cough, burning chest and throat."
"I'm so sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience. I love all of you, and I'm very appreciative of your understanding and loyalty. I hate letting you guys down, but the last thing I want is for ya'll to spend your money and time on a show that I didn't think is 'me at my best,'" he announced on Instagram at the time, adding that his team was working to reschedule the shows in 2026.
In November 2023, Johnson released his latest studio album Leather. The deluxe version dropped one year later in November 2024.
On Sept. 29, the "'Til You Can't" singer seemingly teased new music on the way when he shared a photo in the studio on Instagram.

"Been working on something for y'all…," he wrote.
Meanwhile, in May, Johnson announced at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards that he and his wife Brandi are expecting their third baby.
"We're having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well," Johnson told PEOPLE exclusively of the happy reveal.
Johnson, who is yet to declare the baby's arrival, is also dad to daughters Clara Mae, 10, and Cori, 8.
When asked if he always hoped that he would become a boy dad, Johnson quickly responded, "Yes." He added: "I didn't care if this one was a boy or a girl, but I was pretty happy when I saw the gender reveal."
