On Wednesday and Thursday evening, Chinese-Icelandic singer Laufey took over Madison Square Garden in New York City for two stops in her Matter of Time Tour, which supports her third studio album with the same name.
For both nights, the "Snow White" singer welcomed a series of star-studded guests. On Wednesday, she teamed up with Rachel Zegler to perform her hit song "Goddess." While Thursday's show featured Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who joined her for a duet of "Best of Wives and Best of Women," the second-to-last track from the Broadway musical. That same night, she also performed "Illegal" alongside R&B artist PinkPantheress.
On Friday, Miranda went to Instagram to praise Laufey and thank her for the opportunity.
"@laufey is versatile, stunningly talented, and one of a kind. Was so honored that she asked me to join her onstage in New York," he wrote in his Instagram caption, along with multiple photos of him and the Icelandic singer rehearsing and singing on stage, and selfies with his nephew Alejandro Crespo and friend Dafne Keen, who attended the show with him.
"Doesn't it feel like Laufey can just do whatever she wants, and even though she's three albums in, we're still just at the beginning of her journey?" the 45-year-old writer continued. "Sky's the limit, truly. Only a matter of time."

After graduating from the Berklee School of Music in 2021, she released her debut EP, Typical of Me, followed by her first studio album, Everything I Know About Love, the next year.
Her second studio album, Bewitched, won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards and its lead single "From the Start" found chart success in Canada, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. Her most recent project, A Matter of Time, was released this past August.
An hour after Miranda shared his photos, Laufey commented on his post, writing, "I'm so deeply honored. Thank you for the kind words and thank you a million times for jumping on stage with me!!! You've been such an inspiration for years. Much love!!! ❤️."
Zegler, who performed with Laufey on Wednesday night, commented on Miranda's post as well, saying, "can't believe i missed you by a day."
