Only Murders In The Building
Only Murders in the Building is back for an exciting new season. The fifth season premieres on Sept. 9, bringing our favorite city dwellers back in action, taking on crimes occurring in their luxurious New York City apartment complex, the Arconia. Every year, we revel in the excitement and complexities of the series. However, the upcoming episodes promise more exhilaration than ever since it began in the orb of the total lunar eclipse in Pisces. Expect more glamour, mystery and intrigue as a result. Let's see what neighbors, friends, and collaborators Mabel, Charles and Oliver bring to the table with their investigations. The best is yet to come, and fans can't wait. Read on, to find out which character from the show you are, based on your zodiac sign.
Aries: Teddy Dimas
Craig Blankenhorn/Hulu Nathan Lane as Teddy Dimas.
As the former restaurateur who curates Oliver's favorite dips and the sponsor of the Only Murders in the Building podcast (and Oliver's plays), Teddy was arrested for the crimes he had committed in the past as the Arconia jewel thief. Aries are passionate people who live in the moment, similar to Teddy. Later, they regret their actions, which is what he articulates when confronted with his former misdeeds.
Taurus: Detective Donna Williams
Craig Blankenhorn/Hulu
Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Williams.
Detective Donna Williams is assigned to the case at the Arconia. After several of the murders occur, she becomes friends with the residents who are investigating with her (actually, behind her back). Detective Williams' dedication and commitment are reminiscent of how Tauruses handle their affairs. Like the Bull, Detective Williams gets riled up and sees red when pushed to the limit. But, mostly, Detective Williams calmly demonstrates her frustrations to them.
Gemini: Howard Morris
Disney/Patrick Harbron
Michael Cyril Creighton as Howard Morris.
At first, Howard is portrayed as a single cat dad. But once we get to know him, the other side of his dualistic personality is seen. Howard's nose is in the business of everyone at the Arconia and has dreams of pursuing an acting career (now it's podcasting). Although he doesn't make it to the stage, he finds his place behind the scenes, meddling in everyone's affairs like Geminis do.
Cancer: Loretta Durkin
Patrick Harbron/Hulu
Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin.
Loretta is an actress who marries Oliver in season 4. Her nurturing and sensitive characteristics make her the perfect partner for the intense persona of Oliver. Being that Cancer signs are known to put on a mask to the outside world, which is what Loretta does for her thriving career, inside, they have a lot of emotion and TLC for those in their orbit, which Loretta feels for her newfound family.
Leo: Oliver Putnam
Patrick Harbron/Hulu
Martin Short as Oliver Putnam.
All the world is a stage for the theater director turned true crime investigator/podcaster. Oliver is often theatrical, well, maybe 99.9% of the time. But his drama is met with humor and sass. He's not afraid to name-drop at a whim and monologue about his personal issues and experiences, like Leos. Oliver is also a kind and generous partner to Loretta, which shows his tender heart — all very Leo.
Virgo: Uma Heller
Craig Blankenhorn/Hulu Jackie Hoffman as Uma Heller.
Years of living in the hustle and bustle of New York City can make even the biggest optimist cynical. Uma is a neighbor in Arconia with a direct and sarcastic demeanor, similar to Virgos. At times, Uma can seem harsh and critical, like the Earth sign when pushed, but she's just reinforcing her realness and practicality after residing in The Big Apple for decades. Quite frankly, who can blame her?
Libra: Lester the Doorman
Disney/Patrick Harbron
Teddy Coluca as Lester.
Lester, the beloved long-term doorman at the Arconia, seems to know everyone's business and tea but keeps it to himself. Libras are usually friendly and relationship-oriented, making it sensible for Lester to be the Air sign. Libras know when to keep information to themselves and to share details, which describes Lester perfectly. This season, we'll discover what happened to him and find out what clandestine matters were up his sleeve.
Scorpio: Mabel Mora
Patrick Harbron/Hulu
Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora.
Mabel's ability to dig beneath the surface of situations and find the truth aligns her with the zodiac sign, Scorpio. Her eagerness to solve crimes and understand the reason behind them makes her more of a psychological force to be reckoned with, which is comparable to how Scorpios assess matters. Also, Mabel wears her emotions close to her chest and isn't revealing, a vibe that resonates with the secretive scorpion.
Sagittarius: Sazz Pataki
Patrick Harbron/Hulu
Jane Lynch as Sazz Pataki.
Sazz is Charles' stunt double on Brazzos. She's a true friend with an adventurous spirit. Sazz aligns with the Fire sign's athleticism and willingness to put themselves at risk to protect others because she does all of the physical work on set for Charles and protects him. Since the archer is a defender of the universe, the sentiment rings true for the loyalty and camaraderie Sazz brings through her actions.
Capricorn: Charles-Haden Savage
Craig Blankenhorn/Hulu
Steven Martin as Charles Haden-Savage.
Charles is a creature of habit, like the sea goat tends to be; he adheres to order and tries to avoid chaos, although it is brought to him when he becomes involved in sleuth work regarding the murders in his apartment building. In proper Capricorn form, Charles tries to take on the wise and brilliant detective role, while relishing in his previous success as an actor playing a similar character.
Aquarius: The Westies
Disney/Patrick Harbron
The Westies.
This unique group of individuals who live in the west tower of the Arconia bonds by playing cards together (particularly, Oh Hell!), tending to a housebound pig and keeping a secret about the owner of their apartments. Since Aquarius is a sign of friendship, we can attribute this zodiac to The Westies due to their long-lasting relationship. They have a great dynamic with each other, even with their different quirks.
Pisces: Jan Bellows
Craig Blankenhorn/Hulu Amy Ryan as Jan Bellows.
Like most Pisces, Jan has a lot of love to give to those she cares about, even though she has obsessive and homicidal tendencies. The part that relates to the zodiac sign is Jan's unwavering heart and determination to protect those she cares about. This is seen through her act of saving Charles' life last season, despite the fact that she escaped jail and hid for weeks in his closet.
