Pizza Hut is rolling out a new deal and serving up Pizza Hut Melts for just $4.99 each on Mondays

The promo follows the hype of the $2 Personal Pan Pizza Tuesdays deal

Fast food restaurants across the board are leaning in to offering cost-saavy deals to customers

Pizza Hut is keeping the weekly deals coming, following the hype around its $2 Personal Pan Pizza Tuesdays.

Starting Sept. 8, customers can order the original Pizza Hut Melts for $4.99 each on Mondays. The handheld food item is made with the brand's Thin N' Crispy crust, folded around toppings and cheese, then baked and sprinkled with Parmesan and oregano. Each order comes with two folded slices and a dipping sauce.

In a statement from the pizza company, a spokesperson said, "The incredible response to Pizza Hut's $2 Personal Pan Pizza showed just how much Pizza Hut fans love a great deal. Now, we're keeping that momentum going with Melts Monday."

As mentioned, the chain has embraced the low-cost promotions that caught many fans' eyes and stomachs throughout the summer. Its $2 Tuesday deal, which debuted back in July, proved so popular that more than 3,100 restaurants sold out of Personal Pan Pizzas on launch day. Given the overall demand, Pizza Hut then extended the promotion through August.

Melissa Friebe, chief marketing officer of Pizza Hut U.S., said at the time, "The excitement every Tuesday has been electric, and we couldn't be happier to see the tradition of this $2 Tuesday offer take off."

With Melts Monday joining the rotation, fans now have two days each week to score a deal.

Pizza Hut isn't the only fast food chain that's rolling out new cost-effective deals.

Back in August, McDonald's announced that it would be cutting costs to appeal to its more frugal customers. The new prices of mainstay food items will be 15% less than they've been, affecting the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Chicken McNuggets, McCrispy, Egg McMuffin and other signature breakfast sandwiches.

The new prices went into effect at the beginning of September, and franchise owners have been urged to keep those prices into the new year.

The fast food chain will also update the price of Sausage, Egg and Cheese McGriddle and 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meals to $5 and $8, which will go into effect starting in November. Restaurants will also sell Sausage Egg McMuffins for $5 and Big Mac meals for $8.

"The single biggest driver of what shapes a consumer's overall perception of McDonald's value is the menu board," McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski reportedly said to analysts during a call at the time. "And it's when they drive up to the restaurant and they see the menu board…that's the number one driver. We've got to get that fixed."
