Sarah Paulson said in interviews at the Oct. 16 premiere of All's Fair that her friend and former costar Diane Keaton's death is "not something I'm able to talk about yet"

"I was the luckiest person in the world to have had her in my life the way that I did," Paulson said

Tributes from around Hollywood have been pouring in over the last week since Keaton died at 79 of pneumonia on Saturday, Oct. 11

Sarah Paulson is mourning her late friend and costar Diane Keaton.

Paulson, 50, spoke about Keaton's death at 79 on Saturday, Oct. 11, to multiple outlets as she attended the Los Angeles premiere for her new Hulu series All's Fair on Thursday, Oct. 16.

"She was a very dear friend of mine, so it's not something I'm able to talk about yet," the actress told Access Hollywood. "I'm not able to talk about it. But all I can say, and I have been saying tonight, which is important to me to communicate, is that what you thought she was as a performer, she was even more spectacular as a human being."

Paulson and Keaton met when they filmed the 1999 movie The Other Sister. Keaton played Paulson's onscreen mother in the movie, which led to a friendship that lasted the rest of Keaton's life.

"I was the luckiest person in the world to have had her in my life the way that I did," Paulson added to Access Hollywood, as she appeared to tear up.

When Paulson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter at the same event, the actress said she was "incredibly close to [Keaton] and this is a profoundly sad time for me."

"I can't talk about it in any way that's articulate other than to say that for all you knew and loved about her as a performer, she was even more as a friend," she added, echoing her comments to Access.

Keaton's family said in a statement Oct. 16 that the Oscar-winning actress died of pneumonia on Oct. 11.

"The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane," the statement read. "She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.
