Forget the typical Hollywood heartthrobs – Elle Fanning's celebrity "hall pass" pick is pleasantly unexpected.
The "Predator: Badlands" actress, who has spoken about her crush on Jack Black before, explained to i-D in a cover story that after revealing the "School of Rock" star is her hall pass pick – i.e., the person you are allowed to step outside of your relationship for – she met him at the Golden Globes. Black is now aware of her crush after her boyfriend, Rolling Stone CEO Gus Wenner, told him.
"My boyfriend was with me and he told him, 'You're her hall pass, by the way,'" Fanning, 27, said with a blush, according to the outlet.
Asked what about Black does it for her, Fanning's answer naturally had to do with the beloved actor's contagious spirit.
"Him doing the Sax-a-Boom?! It's just so sexy," she said, referring to the discontinued 1990s toy saxophone Black famously plays. "He's so funny. He's so kind. He's so talented, so himself. I think that's it—authenticity. It's infectious." She added with a sigh, "Perfect man."

Fanning previously revealed on "The Tonight Show" in 2024 that she has a group chat with her sister and girlfriends that is "basically dedicated to how hot Jack Black is," adding, "We send each other clips of him all the time." The "Maleficent" actress also shared that getting to meet Black "made my life."
As for her current romance, the largely private Fanning opened up about the two-year relationship.
Fanning gushed about all the "cool things" Wenner, 35, has introduced her to, including meeting Lil Wayne and putting her on to new music. The magazine executive took her to an early Doechii performance, "Before she really blew up, I would just like to say."
"I'm so happy," she continued. "When you're in a happy relationship, it's like, I want to go places with you and share these experiences. I can go to his work things, he can come to mine, and we support each other. I am just the happiest I've been. I really am."
