The couple tied the knot over Labor Day weekend after seven years together
Moretz called it "the most monumental moments of our life"
Chloë Grace Moretz has learned how to compartmentalize when it comes to her personal and professional life.
The 28-year-old actress was busy filming a thriller and preparing for the heavy off-Broadway play Caroline while also tying the knot with her wife, Kate Harrison.
"Between the film I filmed this summer called The Edge of Normal and also then rehearsals on this project, which is also not a lighthearted project, and then going away and having a dreamy wedding, it's such a funny juxtaposition of being an actor," Moretz shared on the Today show on Monday, Sept. 22.
"We're going and playing these dark characters, and then we're going and having the most monumental moments of our life happen," she explained.
Moretz added that her "dreamy" wedding day "was a wonderful break and a nice juxtaposition, for sure."
Moretz and Harrison, who had mostly kept their romance private, got married over Labor Day weekend. They said their "I dos" in custom Louis Vuitton looks, including Moretz's sky blue gown.
"It just feels like me," Moretz told Vogue. "I never really envisioned a wedding dress in my mind growing up, so when we started talking about what that would look like, I knew I would do something non-traditional, and not wear white, and kind of have it feel different, and I think it really does."

The couple kept their wedding looks private from each other despite going to Paris at the same time for their final fittings. Moretz previously told Vogue that she's most excited about "just being together" when it comes to marriage.

"We've been together for almost seven years and making this promise to each other in a new way, and exchanging these vows — I think it's important to just stay every day choosing each other," the Carrie star said.
The couple began dating in 2018 and confirmed their engagement on Instagram on Jan. 1.

"The biggest part of our relationship is our friendship, and you really are who you keep around you," Moretz told Vogue.
Using their wedding weekend as a way to introduce their guests to the activities that are important to them, the couple incorporated lots of meaningful details.
"A big part of the wedding [is about] sharing things that Kate and I love with everyone that's going to be there," Moretz told Vogue. "So there's fishing, horseback riding and poker. Kate made a custom poker mat herself, so we're going to kind of be leaning into it. Our second day is going to be line dancing and everything."
