Wu-Tang Clan co-founder Oliver "Power" Grant's cause of death has been revealed

Wu-Tang Clanco-founderOliver "Power" Grant's cause of death has been revealed.

In a joint statement toRolling Stonepublished on Sunday, March 1, Grant's family and the Wu-Tang Clan shared that the entrepreneur and executive producer died following "a courageous and hard-fought battle withpancreatic cancer."

"A true fighter until the end, he was surrounded by his mother, his children, his family and his closest friends," they said.

They went on to share that Grant, who was an early financial backer of the iconic hip-hop collective, rose from the Park Hill projects of Staten Island, N.Y., "to become a visionary force, a pillar of the Wu-Tang family, and a global architect of culture."

"It was the honor of his life to pour his love, wisdom and brilliance into his family and his community. His impact was singular; there will never be another to take his place," they continued.

"Power will always be loved, and his legacy will forever remain," they added.

Grant died on Monday, Feb. 23, at the age of 52.

Tributes poured in from individual Wu-Tang Clan members following the news of Grant's death.

Method Manshared a photo of himself and Grant onInstagramwith the caption, "Paradise my Brother safe Travels!! 💔💔🤬 #pookie #power Bruh I am not ok."

Raekwonposted a group photo, writing, "POWER  we been everywhere …. now you everywhere !😢🙏🏾 the most high is merciful love you."

"We couldn't have done it without him. Wu wouldn't have come to fruition without Power. His passing is a profound loss to us all. My deepest condolences to the fam,"wrote GZA.

The Wu-Tang Clan was named one of the2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomineeson Wednesday, Feb. 25.

In addition to Method Man, Raekwon and GZA, the hip-hop group includes membersRZA,Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa.Ol' Dirty Bastardwas part of the collective untilhis death in 2004.
