A woman says that a friend agreed to give her a ride to a party, but then seemed furious when she had to text her to let her know she had arrived outside the woman's home

The woman says that the friend then proceeded to tell other people about the incident once they arrived at the party, saying, "I'm not a f------ Uber driver!"

The woman shared her story on Reddit to ask others who was in the wrong

A woman says that one of her friends seemed deeply offended by an interaction between them before a party — and she's wondering who's at fault.

The woman detailed her story on the popular Reddit forum "Am I the A------?," a place where people can go to get input and advice from other Redditors about interpersonal problems. In the post, the woman says that she was recently invited to a friend's home for a get-together.

"I'd never been to her house before, and it was in an area that I didn't know, so I asked one of the other invitees (Alison) if she'd mind giving me a ride," she explained.

She said that Alison agreed, at which point the original poster (OP) said that she replied, "Great! Let me know when you're outside, and I'll come meet you."

While the OP thought this was a reasonable thing to say — adding that it was a "very chilly night" outside — she said that Alison disagreed.

"When we arrived at our friend's house, I overheard Alison indignantly telling everyone, '[She] told me to let her know when I was outside her house, like I'm a f------ Uber driver! I'm not a f------ Uber driver!' "

"She repeated this several times, and every time she said 'I'm not a f------ Uber driver!' her voice got more shrill. People looked uncomfortable, and no one said anything (including me, which I now regret)," the OP added.

The woman says that at the end of the night, Alison "loudly" suggested that someone else drive the OP home, and so she ultimately caught a ride with someone else.

"WIBA [was I being unreasonable]?" the woman asked at the end of her post.

The woman's fellow Reddit users were quick to assure her that she was in no way the one at fault in the situation.

"NTA [not the a------]. Whenever I'm picking up a friend, I always text them to let them know I'm there. I don't really understand what other expectation she had," one person said.

The same person added, "This friend sounds weird and unhinged. But live and learn — don't ask her for another favor ever, ever again. Not only was it absurd for her to be offended, she pretty much attempted to publicly shame you. Massive a------ move on her part."

"As long as you had [your] shoes and coat on ready to go so you didn't keep her waiting, then absolutely NTA. Hanging around outside is ridiculous," said someone else.

Another person attempted to give Alison the benefit of the doubt — but also admitted that she seemed dramatic.

"I'm guessing that maybe Alison's parents taught her that it was rude to make people wait when they're doing you a favor, and so you should be watching for the car. I spent a lot of time as a kid watching from the porch or the window for my friends or their parents so that they wouldn't have to get out and knock on the door," they said.

However, they added, "But in the age of cell phones, this just doesn't seem like a big deal. It sucks that she didn't just communicate that to you instead of being passive aggressive at the party."
