Boxing set to STAY on the Olympic schedule in 2028 as IOC approve new governing body after cutting ties with previous Russian-led regime over financial and ethical concerns


Boxing's place at the next Olympics appears to have been secured after the International Olympic Committee granted provisional recognition to a new governing body of the sport. The IOC had left boxing off the programme for Los Angeles 2028 after severing links with the Russian-led International Boxing Association (IBA) over financial and ethical concerns. IOC president Thomas Bach had warned that the sport needed to find a new and reliable international federation if it wanted to be part of the Games.
