Jurgen Klopp has shut down talk of him taking over as England manager and offered an update on his coaching future. Klopp was regarded as one of the possible dream candidates to succeed Gareth Southgate following his exit after the Three Lions lost against Spain in the final of Euro 2024. Having stepped down from his role as Liverpool boss at the end of last season to take a break from football, little is known about the German's future plans.

A triathlete vomited at the end of a gruelling men's race at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday. Canada's Tyler Mislawchuk, 29, was seen being physically sick on live TV after finishing ninth in a time of 1hr 39min 41sec. And he later revealed he had actually vomited 10 times as the brutal race took its toll. 'I didn't come here to come top 10 but I gave it everything I had,' he told Canadian media afterwards.

Team GB have won the women's quadruple sculls gold in a photo finish, after a late surge took them past the Netherlands to win the event for the first time at the Olympic Games. Lauren Henry, Hannah Scott, Lola Anderson and Georgie Brayshaw had appeared destined for the silver medal in the closing stages of the race. The British quartet trailed the Netherlands with 250 metres remaining of the race at the Stade nautique de Vaires-sur-Marne.
