- Whoopi Goldberg was censored on *The View.*

- The cohosts reacted in shock to the Oscar-winning actress' words, which were muted on the air.

- After EW reached out for clarification over the censored word, Goldberg had an outburst on the air.

Whoopi Goldberg made a remark that was censored on live TV on Thursday's *The View*, and later had a bizarre outburst on the air after ** reached out to a show representative for comment.

Shortly after the 69-year-old announced conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's upcoming appearance on the show, Goldberg said that the ongoing, historic U.S. government shutdown "should not be affecting the American people," and that "these are decisions that you don't have the right to..." and appeared to begin saying the F-word.

In the video above, the show's audio can be heard cutting out, censoring whatever Goldberg said next.

When the audio came back on during the broadcast, the audience could be heard gasping — while cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin raised her hands to her face in shock, and Sunny Hostin pursed her lips.

"You caught it!" Griffin said, though Goldberg kept her own hands over her face for several seconds as she playfully looked around with a comical expression on her face.

"Well, you know where I'm at," Goldberg said, before throwing the show to a commercial break.

EW then sent an email to a show representative noting that it appeared that Goldberg had cursed and requesting comment on the censored moment, as is standard journalism practice.**

The show's publicist did not respond to EW's comment request, but when the show returned from a commercial break minutes later, Goldberg addressed the incident on the air.

"Just so we're all clear, our people just got a call, saying, 'Whoopi just said a bad word. Do you have a comment?' I didn't say the bad word. I did not say it," she said. "But, so, I know that you're sitting, waiting for me to do something, waiting for something to happen. Could you just watch the show? I'd appreciate it if you just watched the show, and then you'll know what really went on."

She continued, saying, "And do play it back the 50 times that you're going to do."

When Joy Behar asked if the request for comment came from a viewer, Goldberg clarified to her cohost that, "No, it came from one of our fans, you know, the guys who sit and wait for something to report on? I just have to clear that up for them."

EW has reached back out to *The View *for comment on Goldberg's new remarks.

(Reuters) -Artificial intelligence giant Nvidia's most advanced chips will be reserved for U.S. companies and kept out of China and other countries, U.S. President Donald Trump said.

During a taped interview that aired on Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes" program and in comments to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said only U.S. customers should have access to the top-end Blackwell chips offered by Nvidia, the world's most valuable company by market capitalization.

"The most advanced, we will not let anybody have them other than the United States," he told CBS, echoing remarks made earlier to reporters as he returned to Washington from a weekend in Florida. "We don't give (the Blackwell) chip to other people," he said during the flight.

The remarks suggest Trump may impose tighter restrictions around cutting-edge American AI chips than U.S. officials previously had indicated, with China and potentially the rest of the world barred from accessing the most sophisticated semiconductors.

In July, the Trump administration released a new artificial intelligence blueprint seeking to loosen environmental rules and vastly expand AI exports to allies, in a bid to maintain the American edge over China in the critical technology.

And just last Friday, Nvidia said it would supply more than 260,000 Blackwell AI chips to South Korea and some of the country's biggest businesses, including Samsung Electronics.

Questions have also swirled about whether Trump would allow shipments of a scaled-down version of Blackwell chips to China since August, when he suggested he might allow such sales.

Trump told CBS he would not allow the sale of the most advanced Blackwells to Chinese companies, but he did not rule out a path for them to obtain a less capable version of the chip. "We will let them deal with Nvidia but not in terms of the most advanced," he said during the "60 Minutes" interview.

The possibility that any version of Blackwell chips might be sold to Chinese firms has drawn criticism from China hawks in Washington, who fear the technology would supercharge China's military capabilities and accelerate its AI development.

Republican Congressman John Moolenaar, who chairs the House Select Committee on China, said such a move "would be akin (to) giving Iran weapons-grade uranium."

Trump had hinted he might discuss the chips with Chinese President Xi Jinping ahead of their summit in South Korea last week, but ultimately said the topic did not come up.

Nvidia has not sought U.S. export licenses for the Chinese market because of Beijing's stance on the company, CEO Jensen Huang said last week.

"They've made it very clear that they don't want Nvidia to be there right now," he said during a developers' event, adding that it needed access to China to fund U.S.-based research and development.

Reese Witherspoon is looking back on how she handled postpartum depression after being warned by her mom that the mental health condition could be genetic.

The actress, 49, shares two children — daughter Ava Philippe, 26, and son Deacon Philippe, 22 — with her ex-husband Ryan Phillipe. She also has a son, Tennessee James Toth, 13, with her ex-husband Jim Toth. While speaking to U.K. publication Harper's Bazaar, Witherspoon recalled the history of depression in her family.

She said her mom had depression and feared it could be genetic. Witherspoon then experienced depression for herself as a teenager and after the birth of her daughter Ava in 1999, when she was just 23.

"It was really bad," Witherspoon told Harper's Bazaar in their Dec/Jan issue. "In the first six months, I was simultaneously happy and depressed. I just cried all the time, I was up all night, I was exhausted."

The Legally Blonde star said she wasn't prepared for how her hormones would be affected by giving birth, and when she stopped nursing six months later.

"It's hard being a young mom," she said, adding that she was "overwhelmed" by people giving their opinions on how to look after her baby. Witherspoon said a good friend encouraged her to seek help amid her struggle with postpartum depression.

"I had the connections and the means to get to a doctor, a mental-health specialist, but a lot of people don't," she told the outlet. "They struggle on their own and hide it."

The Big Little Lies star, who is also the founder of media company Hello Sunshine, is set to receive the Cultural Icon award at the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2025.

She believes that having "so much anxiety" has helped her achieve her career success.

"I stressed myself out in service of my job, and it got me really, really far," Witherspoon told the publication. "I'm rewarded for my anxiety and perfectionism. But I'm getting older, and am starting to relax into the idea that I'm enough.

"I mean, I've had an abundance of good fortune, great work opportunities and worked with some of the greatest people on Earth," she concluded.

The first winner of America's Next Top Model, Adrianne Curry, claimed a makeover directed by the show's former host Tyra Banks left her "partially bald."

Curry, 43, took to her Instagram on Friday, October 31, to detail her claim, which allegedly took place while filming season 1 of the reality TV series at the end of 2002 and early 2003.

"I wanted to discuss why I'm partially bald right here. The reason is, when I was on Top Model, Tyra Banks told them to put a weave in my hair. The black stylists that were putting it in pulled her aside, and I heard them tell her, like, 'This white chick's hair is too fragile for this,' and she's [Tyra's], like, 'Oh no, no, just do it,'" Curry alleged of the show's host, 51, during her video. "I had an oozing wound from the braids. Half my hair had been ripped out here. The little bit of hair that grows here, that's it."

Us Weekly has reached out to a representative for Banks for comment.

As Curry, who won the modelling contest at the age of 20, shared her claim, she pointed to the left side of her head which showed a patch of short-growing strands.

"That's all, like, it's hardly anything," Curry said.

She then alleged that once the series had wrapped, she visited an Illinois hair salon where she sought guidance in rectifying the alleged incident.

"When I got off the show, they didn't even take the weave out so I had to go to a black salon in Illinois and I will never forget, because all the hair stylists came around," Curry stated in the clip. "One chick was like, 'Who the hell put this in your white head?' I couldn't say anything because I was under an NDA so it took hours and hours for them to get it out. I was left with… horrific moist scabs all over my head. They [the stylists] were so sweet … they just couldn't believe that this was done to me."

Tyra Banks Says She Likes to Pick Her Family and Boyfriend's Feet and Pop Their Pimples

Curry, who later appeared in MTV's The Surreal Life before landing several acting gigs, also spoke about the alleged lasting effects of her makeover.

"It's never grown, this entire area. It's permanently damaged from that weave. It was so painful," she claimed. "I was crawling out of my skin every second. All my friends were like, 'Are you bald there?' I think most of those makeovers were done just to torture us, honestly."

Curry then spoke about how she couldn't understand why she required additional alleged makeover direction given she undertook a dramatic hair cut on the show.

Southern Charm's Molly Says 'ANTM' Was 'Psychological Torture,' Way 'Harder' Than the Bravo Show

"On episode one, they cut my hair for the photo shoot and it looked really good … and then, they're like, 'You need a makeover.' It was awful," she claimed. "It felt so validating to be in that salon with all the women who were just, like, 'Who would do this to you?' and I'm, like, her name is Tyra."

Curry then gave the camera a laugh before ending the recording. The post attracted mixed responses from fans in the comments section, with one person writing, "I'm so sorry! That sounds awful," and another person writing, "It also happens with a lot of medications and menopause."

The new documentary Dick Van Dyke: 100th Celebration looks back at the iconic entertainer's decades-long career as he turns 100 on Dec. 13, 2025

The film's director Steve Boettcher tells PEOPLE that fans will see "new sides" of the multi-hyphenate

The project has been in the works for nearly 30 years, starting with Boettcher interviewing some of Van Dyke's former costars

With a career that spans more than seven decades, it's no surprise that it took director Steve Boettcher quite some time to put together a documentary that best encompasses legendary entertainer Dick Van Dyke.

Dick Van Dyke: 100th Celebration takes viewers through the multi-hyphenate's expansive career in film, on TV and on stage, dating back to Mary Poppins, The Dick Van Dyke Show and Bye, Bye Birdie. To help tell the story, Boettcher spoke to a number of now-deceased Hollywood titans, including Mary Tyler Moore, Carl Reiner and Betty White, over the course of nearly 30 years.

"Our premise was to kind of interview the people that worked with him and not people that remember watching him all the time," Boettcher tells PEOPLE of the film that will hit theaters for one weekend only, on Dec. 13 and 14, in time for Van Dyke's 100th birthday on Dec. 13. He adds: "So it's kind of like all the people that were there, lightning in a bottle with him."

The process, Boettcher explains, started as he began to interview former cast members from The Dick Van Dyke Show, including Morey Amsterdam, who died in 1996, and Rose Marie, who died in 2017.

"That was kind of the start of it," Boettcher says of his interviews with the comedians.

From left: Carl Reiner, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore and Rose Marie in 2004.

Initially, Boettcher thought the documentary would be about the "early trailblazers of television" — Van Dyke included. After sitting down with Moore and Reiner, Boettcher says, "All of a sudden, it kind of started gaining its own momentum."

In the trailer for the film, both Moore, who died in 2017, and Reiner, who died in 2020, gush over their old friend and colleague.

"He's a great human being and one of the most generous performers that I've ever worked with," Moore, who starred alongside Van Dyke on his self-titled sitcom, says.

Reiner, who created The Dick Van Dyke Show, calls him "the most gifted physical comedian that ever lived."

Though much of his life has been documented, including in the upcoming book 100 Rules for Living to 100: An Optimist's Guide to a Happy Life, out Nov. 18, Boettcher promises fans will see "new sides" of Van Dyke through the film.

"This is an 80-year career in the making, and I think it's easy to look at a few shows and say, 'Wow, those are great,' but collectively, what does that all mean? Why is he so extraordinary today? Why do we love him so much?," he says.

"There's some really touching, sweet, fun moments in it," he continues. "And I think we also, we laugh again with him. We kind of hum along to the songs he sings. I think it's all those things. It's really a celebration."

Dick Van Dyke: 100th Celebration will play in select theaters Dec. 13 and 14.
