The Golden State Valkyries looked confident heading into the matchup against the Atlanta Dream. Up 1-0, the Valkyries brought their A game with their fashion statements.

Their opponent, on the other hand, toned down their looks and mostly wore sweatsuits, possibly to focus extra hard on not going further in a hole. But one Dream player who is known for her bold fashion did not take her foot off the gas.

Hall of Famer Tina Thompson was a co-host of E!'s orange carpet pregame show and explained how the league's stance on player fashion has evolved.

"We had a business casual dress code in the WNBA, so our style was a little regulated," she reflected. "But I was kind of a rebel, so you know, I would throw in a little Jean Paul Gaultier Fuzzi knit under there and just kinda push the envelope a little bit."

She would fit right into today's scene where personal expression is embraced like never before.

Here's the best looks of the WNBA Finals Game 2:

Kaila Charles impressed again with this cropped patchwork top and pleated brown trousers. The top has bright colors and geometric prints and fits her incredibly well.

"I feel like my fashion range is from tomboy, street fashion to like chic," she told E! on the orange carpet. "So today, I was just feeling a little chic. I wanted to get this African print going on and just have fun with it."

Janelle Salaün rocked head-to-toe adidas and her black tracksuit with red stripes is from their collaboration with Willy Chavarria . The New York-based designer is one of the biggest names in fashion right now, so have to give props to this.

Tiffany Hayes made a statement in a partnership with Cora to remind everyone how tough women athletes are. Her T-shirt says, "Women play sports all month long." If you know, you know.

And the monochromatic look was simply cool.

Several Dream players wore sweatsuits, but DeWanna Bonner stood out in this Nike one in a pretty mauve color. The pleated sleeves are a nice touch.

Miela Sowah was fantastic in this Barbie pink suit. The white bandeau underneath makes it flirty and the high-waisted pants and oversized jacket are proportioned to perfection.

Laeticia Amihere was stunning in this flowing shirt and pants set. The leaf pattern is beautifully tranquil and the long cloak is very regal.

You can't go wrong with a LBD ( little black dress for those who don't know) and Angel Reese looked flawless. Her dress had frills in the front and back and she put a single diamond necklace around the high neckline. It was exquisite.

"Angel has taken athlete fashion to another level," actress Lilly Singh said of Reese's influence while hosting the E! orange carpet pregame show.
