Kristin Cavallari is looking back on some of the biggest moments from her reality career, and she admits she made some mistakes.

The 38-year-old reality veteran first hit screens in MTV's 2004 series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The show was spun off into The Hills, following Cavallari's castmate Lauren Conrad. When Conrad, 39, left the show, Cavallari joined in season 5 in 2009 and continued for the show's final season. In 2018, she returned with Very Cavallari, and this summer she returns to the small screen in E!'s Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, which follows a live tour of her podcast.

Cavallari spoke to PEOPLE for an episode of "Reality Rewatch," in which she broke down some of the buzziest moments from her time on TV. That included the season 6 premiere of The Hills, where her castmates warned her about serious rumors going around. Eventually, they tell her, "Everybody's saying that you're doing drugs."

Cavallari told PEOPLE, "I've talked about it a million times, but it's — one of the producers bribed the girls with a Birkin bag to call me out on camera for doing drugs." The star has made those claims many times, including in a 2016 interview with Us Weekly. MTV and her castmates have never commented on the allegation.

"I just felt like that was really unfair," Cavallari said of the drama. "It got really messy. All of our lawyers got involved. I threatened to quit the show at one point. It was just really bad. And I was a young kid. I'm not saying I was perfect."

Cavallari said that looking at the drama now, she has a different perspective. "It took me years to actually take a hard look in the mirror and realize what I could have done differently to avoid that," she explained. "For years, I blamed other people. And finally when I could take accountability and ownership for that is when I could free myself from it."

"It's part of my journey, but it was hard for me to go through it at the time," she added.

Back in May, Cavallari opened up to PEOPLE about her decision to return to reality TV. "I know I've said a thousand times that I would never go back to reality TV," she shared. "This worked out really well for me because I was already going on a podcast tour, and so I just thought, if cameras want to come along, I'm already doing it. It just really kind of naturally fit into my life." The series ended up being her "favorite experience on a show."

"[It's] the only show that I've done where I can say it was 100% authentic. It was real. It was the most real show I've ever done, and that was a really enjoyable experience," she said of her new show.
