A recent study showed that one in four women over the age of 50 have no interest in sex. You might think this is terribly dramatic and shocking – but, more likely, you won't be remotely surprised. After all, these days we talk so much about the way our hectic schedules pour cold water on our sex lives, that not doing it is practically a badge of honour. In my 20s (I'm 46 now), I was a sex columnist for GQ magazine and wrote with great enjoyment about things like fashionable sex toys and the rules of sleeping with one's friends (there are some and, yes, they can work).
