Emma Raducanu's Indian Wells campaign was blown off course by the desert winds as she was thrashed 6-3, 6-2 by Japan's Moyuka Uchijima in the first round. After the 22-year-old's terrible ordeal with a stalker in the Middle East, this event was always going to be more about getting back out there and spending a week in the sunshine than any serious hope of making a run. Raducanu had a week with zero tennis as she recovered emotionally after Dubai - she told us she spent most of her time in Waterstones and Gail's bakery – and so was inevitably undercooked.
