College football coach Dana Dimel dies aged 62
Illinois assistant coach Dana Dimel has died at the age of 62, his family announced on Tuesday. His agent, Pete Roussel, said on social media that Dimel passed away in his sleep. Dimel was a coach for 35 years and took charge of Wyoming, Houston and UTEP during his career. The coach spent this season as a senior offensive assistant on Bret Bielema's staff at Illinois. He also was a longtime assistant coach for Bill Snyder at Kansas State.
